HypnoBirthing® – The Mongan Method is a unique method of relaxed, natural childbirth education, enhanced by self-hypnosis techniques.
HypnoBirthing® provides the knowledge that allows women to use their natural instincts to bring about a calm, easier, more comfortable birthing experience. Emphasis is placed on pregnancy and childbirth, as well as on pre-birth parenting and the consciousness of the pre-born baby.
HypnoBirthing® The Mongan Method stems from the Fear-Tension-Pain concept. Fear about birthing creates tension which sends mom into fight-or-flight resulting in a more painful labor. Women who are free of fear, educated, supported with the appropriate birth team and providers, and properly relaxed have more comfortable births! Birth can be a calm, peaceful *and* an empowering event! HypnoBirthing is a complete childbirth education course teaching specific methods of relaxation using visualization, breath and self-hypnosis along with birth anatomy, and fear release exercise. There is home-study and self-preparation.

HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Classes teaches women and birthing companions the art and joy of experiencing birth in a safe, more comfortable manner for themselves and their babies. Through guided imagery and self-hypnosis women learn how to call upon their bodies own natural endorphins and thus eliminate or greatly reduce the need for medication. When a woman is properly prepared for childbirth and when the mind and body are in harmony, nature is free to function in the same well-designed manner that it does with women in other cultures and with all other creatures.
You will gain an understanding of how the birthing muscles work in perfect harmony–as they were designed to–when your body is sufficiently relaxed and you trust birth. You will learn how to achieve this kind of relaxation, free of the resistance that fear creates, and you will learn to use your natural birthing instincts for a calm, serene and comfortable birth.
When you have your baby with HypnoBirthing®, you will not be in a trance ora sleep. What you will experience is similar to the daydreaming, or focusing, that occurs when you are engrossed in a book or a movie or staring into a fire.
You will be conversant and in good spirits–totally relaxed, but fully in control. Awake throughout, you will be aware of your body’s surges and your baby’s progress; but because you will have trained yourself to reach complete relaxation, you will be able to determine the degree and the manner in which you will feel the surges (contractions). You will experience birthing in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear that prevents the muscles of your body from functioning as nature intended them to. In this calm state, your body’s own natural relaxant, endorphin’s replaces the stress hormones that constrict and cause pain.
